Statement of Faith

The biblical convictions that guide our ministry.

Rooted Truth Ministries bases its ministry, teaching, resources, and organizational practices upon the following statement of faith. Scripture is our final authority, and all ministry conducted in the name of Rooted Truth Ministries shall be consistent with these convictions.

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and the final and sufficient authority for faith, doctrine, and Christian living. Because Scripture is God's Word, it is to be interpreted faithfully according to its grammatical, historical, literary, and theological context and applied carefully to every area of life.

2 Timothy 3:15–17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; Psalm 19:7–11; Psalm 119:105; John 17:17; 2 Peter 1:20–21

2. The Triune God

We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each person is fully God, equal in divine nature and glory, yet distinct in person. God is the Creator, Sustainer, and sovereign Lord of all things and is worthy of all worship, obedience, and praise.

Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Ephesians 4:4–6

3. Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the eternal Son of God who took upon Himself true human nature. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, perfect obedience, substitutionary and atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, present reign and intercession, and His future personal return in power and glory. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished the redemption of His people and is the only mediator between God and humanity.

Matthew 1:23; John 1:1–4, 14, 29; Acts 1:11; Acts 2:22–24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5–11; 1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 1:1–4; Hebrews 4:15

4. Humanity and Sin

We believe God created humanity, male and female, in His image and for His glory. Every human being therefore possesses inherent dignity, worth, and moral accountability before God. Through Adam's fall, sin entered the human race. All people are sinners by nature and by choice, spiritually dead apart from the grace of God, guilty before Him, and unable to reconcile themselves to God through their own works, merit, morality, or religious effort.

Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 3:1–19; Psalm 51:5; Romans 3:10–23; Romans 5:12–19; Ephesians 2:1–3

5. Salvation

We believe salvation is by the grace of God alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation. Through Christ's substitutionary death and bodily resurrection, God provides forgiveness of sins, reconciliation, and justification for all who repent and believe the gospel. The Holy Spirit regenerates sinners, giving spiritual life and enabling genuine faith and repentance. We believe justification is a gracious act of God in which the righteousness of Christ is credited to the believer, not earned through human works. Genuine saving faith is accompanied by repentance and produces an increasingly obedient life as the believer is sanctified by the Holy Spirit. Salvation is entirely the work of God's grace and gives no person grounds for boasting.

Luke 24:46–47; John 3:3–8; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Acts 20:21; Romans 3:21–28; Romans 5:1; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:8–10; Titus 3:4–7; 2 Corinthians 5:21

6. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and personally active in the world and in the lives of believers. He glorifies Christ, convicts the world concerning sin, regenerates sinners, indwells every believer, illuminates Scripture, sanctifies God's people, distributes spiritual gifts according to His will, and empowers believers for worship, service, witness, and faithful Christian living. Believers are called to walk by the Spirit rather than according to the desires of the flesh.

John 3:5–8; John 14:16–17, 26; John 16:7–15; Acts 1:8; Romans 8:9–14; 1 Corinthians 2:12–14; 1 Corinthians 12:4–11; Galatians 5:16–25; Ephesians 1:13–14

7. The Church

We believe all true believers are united to Jesus Christ and together comprise His body, the Church. We believe Christians are called to faithful participation in a local church under qualified biblical leadership, where believers gather for worship, the teaching of Scripture, prayer, fellowship, mutual encouragement and accountability, baptism, the Lord's Supper, service, and the work of making disciples. Rooted Truth Ministries exists to support, encourage, and equip the local church—not to replace it.

Matthew 16:18; Acts 2:42–47; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Ephesians 1:22–23; Ephesians 4:11–16; Hebrews 10:24–25; 1 Peter 5:1–4

8. Christian Discipleship and the Great Commission

We believe every follower of Jesus Christ is called to a life of discipleship under His lordship. Christians are called to grow in holiness, prayer, worship, obedience, love, service, generosity, fellowship, and faithful witness. We believe evangelism and discipleship are responsibilities of the whole Church. Followers of Christ are called to proclaim the gospel, make disciples, teach believers to obey Christ, defend the faith with gentleness and reverence, bear one another's burdens, and encourage one another toward spiritual maturity. Christian obedience does not earn salvation but flows from the grace of God and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 22:37–39; Matthew 28:18–20; Luke 9:23–24; Acts 1:8; Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 6:1–10; Ephesians 2:10; Colossians 2:6–7; 1 Peter 3:15

9. Marriage, Sex, and Family

We believe God created humanity in His image as male and female, equal in dignity and worth and distinct and complementary within His created order. We believe biological sex is a good gift of God and is not merely a matter of personal identity or self-definition. Christians are called to receive their God-given sex as part of His good created order and to live faithfully in accordance with it. We believe God instituted marriage as a covenantal union between one man and one woman. Marriage is intended to reflect the covenant faithfulness and sacrificial love demonstrated by Christ toward His Church. We believe sexual intimacy is a good gift of God reserved exclusively for marriage between one man and one woman. Sexual conduct outside that covenant is contrary to God's revealed design. We believe parents bear the primary responsibility for the spiritual instruction and formation of their children and are called to raise them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Genesis 1:26–28; Genesis 2:18–24; Matthew 19:4–6; Romans 1:26–27; 1 Corinthians 6:9–11, 18–20; Ephesians 5:22–33; Ephesians 6:1–4; Hebrews 13:4

10. The Sanctity and Dignity of Human Life

We believe every human being is created in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and worth regardless of age, ability, health, social standing, ethnicity, or other human distinction. We believe human life is sacred from conception until natural death. Christians are called to protect human life, defend the vulnerable, show mercy, pursue justice, care for those in need, and demonstrate love toward their neighbors in both word and deed.

Genesis 1:26–27; Psalm 82:3–4; Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37–39; Galatians 6:10; James 1:27

11. Resurrection, Judgment, and Eternal State

We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return in power and glory. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. Those who belong to Christ will be raised to eternal life in the presence of God, while those who remain outside of Christ will face final judgment and everlasting punishment. We believe the ultimate hope of believers includes resurrection life with Christ in the new heavens and new earth, where God will dwell with His people and sin, suffering, and death will be no more.

Matthew 25:31–46; John 5:28–29; 1 Corinthians 15:20–26, 51–57; Philippians 3:20–21; Revelation 20:11–15; Revelation 21:1–5

12. Our Ministry Commitment

Because we believe Scripture is the final authority for faith and Christian living, Rooted Truth Ministries is committed to handling God's Word carefully, teaching it faithfully, and applying it responsibly. We seek to distinguish clearly between biblical teaching and matters of personal opinion, to represent legitimate Christian disagreements honestly and charitably, and to maintain the gospel of Jesus Christ at the center of our ministry. Our resources are intended to help believers understand Scripture, grow in Christian maturity, strengthen marriages and families, participate faithfully in the local church, and live under the lordship of Jesus Christ.

Our ministry commitment: Rooted in Scripture. Growing in truth. Living faithfully.
