What does Calvinism actually teach about salvation, election, grace, and human responsibility?
In this episode of The Rooted Way, we begin a broader conversation about Calvinism, Arminianism, and Provisionism by focusing specifically on the Calvinist view.
We walk through the five points commonly summarized as TULIP—Total Depravity, Unconditional Election, Limited Atonement, Irresistible Grace, and Perseverance of the Saints—and look at the key passages Calvinists use to support each point.
Along the way, we also raise some of the questions that naturally come up when discussing God’s sovereignty, human responsibility, the call to repent and believe, and what it means for God to predestine both the end and the means.
This episode is not about attacking a theological system. It is about understanding the position fairly, examining the Scriptures behind it, and continuing to ask whether our theology reflects the full counsel of God’s Word.
In the next episode, we’ll turn to Arminianism and Provisionism.
