What happens when men reject God’s design for masculine responsibility?
In the second episode of our Biblical Manhood series, we look at two opposite distortions of masculinity: passivity and domination. One man refuses to carry responsibility; the other abuses it. Neither reflects Christ.
We talk about Adam’s blame-shifting in Genesis 3, spiritual passivity in the home, domineering leadership, counterfeit masculinity in macho and red-pill culture, pornography and appetite, prolonged adolescence, repentance, and the cost of actually following Jesus. We also look at the man at the Pool of Bethesda and ask a hard question: Do we actually want Christ to change the parts of our lives that have become comfortable excuses?
Biblical masculinity is not passivity, and it is not domination. It is strength submitted to Christ and spent for the good of others.
